General Election Information

One North East has entered a period of political restriction following the announcement that the General and Local Elections will be held on May 6th.

While this means it will be very much business as usual for One North East, it does mean however that we are unable to make any media announcements, publish newsletters, host events or give social media updates during the election campaigns.

Purdah is a statutory restrictive period in the run up to an election where publicly funded bodies, such as One North East, are unable to engage in any communications activity that could be seen to influence the election result by supporting the view of a particular party.

One North East’s press office remains open to provide assistance to journalists during the month-long purdah period.
