Spanning more than 150 metres, the largest Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games (Singapore 2010) merchandise store, named the Olympic Superstore, will carry the full range of Singapore 2010 merchandise.
The store opened outside Ngee Ann City, along Orchard Road by Dr Vivian Balakrishnan, Minister for Community Development, Youth and Sports today.
More than 70 new products are carried at the Olympic Superstore including badges, bags, corporate gifts, key chains, apparel, kids’ visors, lanyards, mouse-pads, notebooks, notepads, pencil sets, pins, pouches, and water bottles. More merchandise will be introduced in the coming months leading up to the Games in August 2010.
The merchandise designs draw its inspiration from the various brand elements of the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games – the Spirit of Youth emblem, fire and water core graphics representing the passion of youth and the island city of Singapore, as well as the mascots, Lyo and Merly.
For the sports enthusiasts, there are products featuring the Singapore 2010 mascots in various sports, and Culture and Education Programme poses. For overseas buyers wanting to own a piece of this historical moment in remembrance of the first Youth Olympic Games being held in Singapore, there will also be products portraying Singapore and its local languages.
As part of the store opening promotions, shoppers will have a chance to buy and collect a special Singapore Map pin set comprising five pins that can be pieced together to form the map of Singapore. The first pin will be available for sale at the Superstore starting today with subsequent pins being launched every other week.
The store opening promotion from 5 May to 15 July will entitle shoppers, who spend a minimum of $60 worth of Singapore 2010 merchandise, to purchase one of the selected promotional merchandise at a special price. The series of promotional merchandise will be refreshed every two weeks.
In addition, all customers who purchase a minimum of $80 worth of Singapore 2010 merchandise at the Superstore will get a free Singapore 2010 pin.
This promotion is valid between 5 and 9 May. Both promotions are concurrently valid.
Besides the Olympic Superstore, Singapore 2010 merchandise can also be purchased at other outlets at Ang Mo Kio Hub, transit areas at all Changi Airport Terminals, Coin Gallery, Crocodile Boutiques, Fairmont Hotel, Parkway Parade, Singapore Coins & Note Museum, and 62 Singapore Post Offices.

In recognition of Visa’s longstanding support of the Olympic Movement, the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games accepts only Visa cards.
