PUB, the national water agency has awarded the tender Road Raising Works Along Orchard Road (From Orange Grove Road To Cairnhill Road) to Or Kim Peow Contractors (Private) Limited at S$22 million.
The project will commence in November 2010 and is slated for completion in second quarter of 2011.
PUB and the appointed contractor will work closely with the relevant agencies and businesses in the Orchard Road area to ensure minimal disruption to the businesses, traffic and pedestrians during the work period.
The road raising project at Orchard Road is part of PUB’s continuous effort in drainage improvement and flood management.
Upon completion of the road raising project, Orchard Road will get increased flood protection.
